Your credit card can be a means towards convenience. However, this can be a burden too, especially if you’ve gotten so used to using them when it comes paying off anything and everything. For all you know, you may be spending more than you can actually pay.
Buying in cash instead of charging through credit cards
A way to control your credit card spending is to get used to paying in cash instead. Keep in mind that you can only buy items that you have actual cash for. This keeps you from turning to your credit card for ways to purchase what is beyond your means. Of course, this is easier said than done. After all, cards where first sold as cash replacements because of their convenience. Yet, you are likely to realize how this simple act can lessen the amount of payments you make on your card.
More credit card tips
The general advice is to not spend beyond what you can really pay for. Many abuse credit cards and treat them like their personal bank. A strategy to keep from doing this is to leave you card at home. Better yet, you may even want to put it in the freezer and render it unusable.
Controlling how you use your credit card is only the first step to controlling your finances. Follow these tips diligently and you are bound to experience some financial freedom in the future.

Recession can be a trying time for many people. Not only do costs of daily needs rise. Means of livelihood and investments are also affected. Hence, it is very important to be able to save some money during recession. This puts aside some funds for when you’d really need them.
Money-saving tip: recommended lifestyle changes
Lifestyle changes are important during recession and if you intend to save. You can’t take for granted the money that slip through your hands so easily. Some changes here can be basic, such as minimizing trips. Others may need some getting used to. Examples here include going out for meals, getting coffee from a café and watching a movie in a cinema. These are unnecessary expenditures that you can easily find substitutes for, such as brewing your own coffee or watching cable television instead.
Tips for saving money: reducing your energy consumption
Energy consumption is also costing you more than you bargained for. It could be the gas-guzzler car that you are using or home lighting design that is wasteful and extravagant. Whatever it is, cutting down is key. If you’re traveling only a few meters from your home, then why not walk.
Saving money may not be easy but you can easily experience its benefits. It is worth considering, if you foresee financial difficulties.

Times are tougher now in the 21st century. Even those who used to earn big bucks have to find smaller income jobs after the recession. College is getting more expensive. So, anything you can do to ease up the total financial weight of college is a great help. One way to save is to use secondhand college books.
Benefits of using used college books
Pre-owned college books are cheaper. So an obvious benefit is the money you get to save. You do not even have to spend money if you are using books that have been passed on to you by a friend or an older cousin or sibling. If the text’s edition is right, new books and used ones have very little difference.
Where to find used college books
Some students sell their used college books at school book fairs. Others are advertised over the Internet or sold at flea market and bookshops that sell used books.
Taking care of used college books
Depending on the age of the used book, your text could be very fragile. As with new books, cover your used college books with plastic to preserve it. Use bookmarks instead of leaving books dog-eared.

When trying to live on a budget, every bill should be inspected closely. This way, you know what to do differently the next time you use a utility. It is the same with cellphone bills. You have to understand what the figures written on your bill represent.
Details found on a cellphone bill
Here are some of the details you should expect from cellphone bill:
Long-distance charges
Charges for local calls
Domestic roaming charges
International roaming charges
Text messaging charges
Taxes
Administrative charges
Regulatory fees
Disputing wrong information on your cellphone bill
If you happen to find some information that you consider outright wrong or even hard to believe, you can dispute it. Keep the bill and highlight the details that you want to dispute. Then, call the support number of the telecommunications company. Discuss with them the wrong information you have found. Take note of the name of the support person you have talked to. The company will investigate your complaint.
It is good practice to be aware about the details of any bill you have received. If there were mistakes that you simply ignored, you may have wasted a lot of money.

Credit cards can provide a false sense of security. You think that you have money to fall back on even though you have no cash available. So, you spend. Not everybody does fall into the credit card trap, however. You will know if you have fallen into the trap and need to have your card cut when:
You are overspending.
If you can no longer stick to a budget because a swipe from your credit card can afford you that extra something, you need to check on yourself. Study your credit card bills. Is the amount due ballooning because of your expenses?
You have piles of credit card debts.
After checking your bills, you discovered you are deep in debt. You have been relying on minimum fees to get by. Now, you have thousands of dollars or more in credit card bills.
You are obsessed with credit cards.
Do you have more than one credit card? Are you paying off one card’s bills with another? Do you find yourself constantly using your card over cash?
If you answer yes to one or more of the questions above, you really need to have your credit card cut. Try to live a simpler life by paying in cash. Get a credit card when you think you can better control your spending.

My mother's bestfriend is her credit card. Every time we go somewhere, she always brings her buddy credit card. My mother likes to shop so much and to eat in fine dining restaurants. Sometimes, she and my dad would go abroad and sleep in a cozy boutique hotel. My siblings and I advised my mother to stop spending with her credit card, but she won't listen to us. Now, she keeps bugging me to lend her some money just to pay all her credit card bills. Although I don't like to give her some money, I let her borrow some cash. Along with the money, I gave her an article about credit card trouble. This should teach her a lesson.
The article I gave my mother tells of the reasons not to get a credit card. If you're new in using credit cards, it's better not to avail a card with high interest rate. High interest rates will definitely cost a lot on your part. It's also not good to pay your debts late. Don't follow the adage, better late than never, because it's not gonna work here. If you miss paying it on the due date, chances are your rate or next payment will increase. Never use different credit cards especially if you can't manage to pay any off your credit card debts.
In paying for your monthly dues, allow yourself to pay more than the minimum payment. If you continually pay minimum only, you will realize that after paying it after two years, the amount paid is already double the original price. It's better to pay more if you have an extra money in your budget. Another big mistake that most credit hard holders commit is sharing their card with a friend. There's a probability that your friend will run away and you will carry this financial burden. Remember to be wise and critical when using your credit card. It can break or make your financial life.

Even though my cousin has a student loan that he discovered via searching from his dsl broadband internet, he still needs money. He needs money to finance other necessary expenses such as his boarding house outside campus, his food expenses and everyday needs. The student loan he got only covers his tuition fee and books. This the reason why he avails an alternative student loan or private student loan. It's his only option to study without worrying for money. This loan can help him get through college life.
Saturday, May 12. 2007
My cousin's teacher, Mr. Woodstuck advised my aunt and uncle to purchase a private student loan for my cousin. Mr. Woodstuck said that the rates of alternative student loan is much lower than availing a student loan or lending the money from the banks. He also said that it covers all the important expenses of the student such as his lodging, food, books and tuition fees. In some student loans, they only covered the tuition fee and the books. They leave the everyday expenses in the hands of the parents.

The price of college education is like gold these days. Parents and students struggled a lot before they can afford their dream education. Even if there are student loans available in private institutions and online, it's still not enough to fully support the student. Before, when I was a college student, I also availed an alternative student loan because my part-time job is not enough to sustain my college needs. If you're going to say, why not ask the help of my parents? The answer is simple, parents can't also help you. You alone can support your education.

My relatives and my family came from a poor ancestral background. My forefathers are born into a life of poverty. My cousin, Hyde and I believe that we can escape from our endless poverty by getting a good education. It's a common belief that education is the key to success and wealth. Our problem is, we don't have financial resources to get through our college education. We can't avail scholarships since we're just average joes in our class. We decided to avail a student loan but we got turn down, because of our bad credit history. The teller in the bank suggested that we get a bad credit student loan.
Wednesday, May 9. 2007
Having a bad credit history is normal and inevitable. It's not a mortal sin to have a bad credit history but it's a big no-no when it comes to purchasing any loan. I thought that since I have a bad credit history, I'm totally hopeless to get a college education. But then hope came, along with bad credit student loan. Now, I can have my education and bright future because of it. This loan is good because it lends you money despite your financial history. It overlooks the possibility that you might have a difficulty in paying them as reflected in your credit records.

There are many loans and scholarships for students provided by the government and private institutions. But not all of these loans can approve your student loan request because they have to check first if you can pay them or not. Unlike in bad credit student loan, you don't have to worry about being approve or not due to your credit history. They understand and process your papers fast so you can get your dream education in no time. They also give the students ample time to pay them after graduation. You can avail this online using your dsl broadband internet.

I know a friend economist in San Diego who told me that if a business were to grow, people need to spend more. In short, only by spending will the money be able to circulate. I told him (Derek) that this is a load of crock. How can a business grow if it can't save for the rainy day? Derek told me that we're talking different sides here: he about capitalizing, and me about trying to stash the cash. On the other hand, Derek has a point. To see through this point is the beginning of "dollar-wisdom", so they say.

But I've had just had my phone account cut off because the savings package of a semi-popular phone company I've recently registered at was having faulty connection. Everytime I connect to the Internet using dial-up, the dial tone just freezes up. I really should be using hi-speed broadband internet access instead. But I'm trying to save c-notes on phone bills so I decided to ask Derek how I will succeed at doing that. It was plain to see that he had the economist's POV and I don't. He was the first person who told me that just because a phone package is cheap does not mean it's reliable.
Saturday, May 5. 2007
"You have spent for something that didn't measure up to standard service," he said. Anyone who wants to save dollars on phone bills has got to keep in mind one thing: It has to be a solid-service phone company that doesn't use gimmicks to attract you to deposit for connection fees and end up asking for disconnection in just a few months. Derek gave me a prepaid phone card and other optional features I could use with the new phone account I was now using. "A prepaid phone card will save you bucks, too," according to him.

Dear mommy,
I'm the most noodle head in the class. As soon as I leave the door of my classroom, I forget all the things my teachers taught us within the day. Although, my classmates tease me and say I'm dumb, it doesn't mean that I don't want to finish my studies. In fact, I always dream of marching on stage and receiving my diploma. But where can I find money to finance my education? My classmates suggested that I try to avail of a college student loan but I don't know whether it would do me good or just aggravate my financial status. I don't know If I can pay for it or not. A lot of my neighbors' children have also availed of this loan because the features of the college student loans are good. But then again the interest just keeps piling up. Oh well, I'll just take the risk and hope that I can pay for those loans.

With so many providers of education loan online, most would-be college students like me are confused which college loan to choose. There are information that I still don't know about them that's why I might make a big mistake. According to my friend's mother, it is best if I take up a federal loan. At first, I didn't know how to respond because I don't know exactly what she's saying. She told me that federal loans are the biggest loan funding I can avail from financial private institutions. I was ecstatic because it could be the answer to all my college finances such as tuition, books, palatable Spanish food and lodging. The good thing about it, according to my friend's mom, is it's low interest and high funding. With this sufficient info, I think I'm going to choose this loan.

College expenses are definitely costly. Up to now, my family is still paying a lot of debts due to our education loans. My two brothers, although they're finished with their studies, are paying multiple student loans because one student loan is not enough to cover all college expenses. We don't know where to get money from all our debts and the six-month grace period is coming to an end so my mother decided to ask the help of banks. Since we have poor credit history, no bank would help us. Then the personnel in the bank told us to consolidate our loans to make the multiple bulk loans into one. In this way, we can track all our payments and we can pay them one by one. Left with no choice, my mother finally said I do with student loan consolidation.

My mom raised me single-handedly. I can't imagine her selling the house in less than 10 years after she had acquired mortgage loan. Her friends from California suggest that the interest rate will eventually go up and she would suffer if she didn't prepay. For a single mother, this could be tough. She had even considered applying for government housing assistance in the past. But now she is earning well working in the bank and engaging in business, and she had been able to buy property. How to pay for the mortgage is what remains to be her constant problem.
Friday, April 27. 2007
In the first place, her business-minded friends knew more than I do about property preservation. She kept asking me whether I liked the new house or not, and if I plan to stay at the county long after I get hitched. This I can't seem to give a straightforward answer. But she was looking at the merits of prepaying the mortgage loan: will it actually save her bucks in the long run? Her friends told her she should consider the growing interest rate, the length of her stay, and the possible deductions she might earn if she prepaid the loan.
Thursday, April 26. 2007
As for me, I don't plan to relocate. It's nice to have a home to go to in California. Maybe I can have stints in New York or Chicago for months or years, but I will always come back to my hometown. So I told her maybe prepaying the mortgage loan is a good option. Discounts -- yes, she can get them, but only maybe after 5 years. Now, if the interest rate for the mortgage loan increases, the prepaying way would definitely be an advantage. However, she could use the money for something else, maybe an investment in the bank stocks, or a consolidation. It's a really tricky situation.
